Fanbirds originated in Russia and Eastern Europe as a traditional decoration hung in the home that catches gentle breezes and so draws the eye too.
They are made from a single piece of wood using simple hand tools only. It needs a steady hand and steadier nerves when it comes to opening your birds wings to reveal your creation. Come and try your hand at making these lovely creatures

All tools and materials supplied
No previous experience is needed though we will be working with sharp hand tools and carving knives.
